HRIS Data Protection course

This course is mandatory for all CoreHR system users and must be completed before access is granted. Completion of the Individual User Agreement forms part of this online course.

Provides users of the University’s HRIS with an understanding of the key principles of the:

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR);
  • related UK data protection legislation; and 
  • the University's approach to managing HR data.

10-15 minutes.

The course has three online components: 

  1. Read through the materials titled: 'Understanding Data Protection'.
  2. Take the short online test: 'Understanding Data Protection - Assessment'.
  3. Finally, you will be required to read and agree (via a checkbox) to the rules for using the University’s HRIS, as set out in the Individual User Agreement (IUA).

Access to this course will only become available following the submission of your approved HRIS User Access Form.

To get started, follow the steps listed below:

  1. Go to WebLearn  
  2. Log in using your Oxford Single-Sign On
  3. Navigate to the course via Sites (top right of the screen) > HRIS - Data Protection Resources (left-hand side menu)
  4. Open and read the Understanding Data Protection PowerPoint slides
  5. Go to Tests to complete the:
    a. Understanding Data Protection – Assessment; and
    b. Individual User Agreement – Acceptance.
