Recruitment training - overview

Following the move of Recruitment functionality from Back Office to the Portal in February 2020, we have introduced a new training approach for the Recruitment module.

Step 1 - eLearners:

A suite of seven Recruitment eLearners (online training) must be completed before you get access to the Recruitment functionality in CoreHR. Once completed, these eLearners will remain available for you to refer back to (in PDF format). They replace some of our previous “Quick Reference Guides” (QRGs).

The Recruitment eLearners are complemented by guidance documents for very detailed or less commonly used functions in the system.

Step 2 - workshop:

Within three months of getting access to the Recruitment module you must attend a mandatory workshop to help consolidate your learning and address any questions. (The workshops are currently being delivered via Microsoft Teams. Our HRIS training team will contact you once you have been using the CoreHR Recruitment for approximately two months.

Gaining access to Recruitment

The diagram below summarises the actions that need to be taken for you to gain and retain “update” access to the Recruitment module:

Booking your eLearners

You can book the eLearners via the links provided below. The links will take you to the University's course booking system, CoSy. Once you have booked a course, you will receive a confirmation email. You must notify the HRIS Training team once all online training is complete before system access can be granted.

We recommend that the eLearners are completed in a quiet environment. Most courses have a consolidation exercise at the end to help embed the learning; you have up to five attempts to achieve the 80% pass mark. Taking notes throughout the course will help you when completing this. If you are unable to pass the consolidation exercise after five attempts*, you will need to contact us (using the contact details on the right-hand side of this page) for advice on next steps.

Once you have completed your course and have returned to the course list in CoSy, you may need to refresh the page to see your updated course status.

If you would benefit from a quiet workplace where you can complete the eLearners without interruption or distraction, you may like to book a quiet space at the IT Learning Centre. Click here for more information or search “quiet” in CoSy.

*Unfortunately, if you fail an attempt and then exit the online course, you will be required to rebook onto the course in order to complete the quiz again. We advise that, where possible, you undertake all the attempts in one go, before exiting the course.

Recruitment workshop

Once you have completed all mandatory eLearners, you will be given update access to the Recruitment module. You must also attend a mandatory workshop within three months of getting access. This hands-on workshop will help to consolidate your learning and give you an opportunity to ask questions and get additional guidance on key processes and system steps. (The workshop is currently being delivered via Microsoft Teams. Our HRIS training team will contact you once you have been using the CoreHR Recruitment for approximately two months.
