Regular downtime and ‘at-risk’ windows
CoreHR: Wednesdays 20:00 - 00:00
Regular minor system updates and fixes are automatically applied to the live system every other Wednesday evening, between 20:00 – 00:00. Depending on the size of the update, the system will be unavailable for up to an hour during this window. A red system message will appear at the top of your portal landing page two days before the downtime update is due to be applied.
In addition, we may use the alternate Wednesday evenings (and possibly other days) to apply further updates which require system downtime. In such cases, we will aim to do so outside of regular hours, to minimise disruption. Where downtime is required for an extended period of time, or during working hours, users and applicants will be advised as soon as this is known.
Vacancy closing dates – avoid Thursdays
As CoreHR will routinely be unavailable for a brief period on Wednesday evenings, we recommend that you avoid closing vacancies on a Thursday.
Mosaic webpages: Thursdays 08:00 - 10:00
Oxford Mosaic (the University’s web CMS) has a regular 'at-risk' period from 08:00 - 10:00 on Thursdays, to complete essential maintenance work. Users should still be able to access the CoreHR system availability and login page during these periods. However, if you encounter issues as a result of Mosaic maintenance work, remember that CoreHR can also be accessed via the HR Self-Service webpage.
